Barbecue Green Bean Casserole


  • 4 slices bacon
  • ¼ cup chopped onions
  • 2/3 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Homemade Gourmet® Kansas City Rub Seasoning
  • 2 (14.5-ounce) cans of no-salt French style green beans, drained
  • 1 (8-ounce) can of sliced water chestnuts, drained


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 13x9x2 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray; set aside.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté bacon until bacon is crisp. Remove bacon to drain on paper towels. Reduce heat to low and stir onions, ketchup, and seasoning into bacon drippings. Simmer sauce for 2 minutes.
  3. Combine green beans, water chestnuts, and 1/3 cup sauce in prepared baking dish.
  4. Crumble reserved bacon into remaining sauce and stir until well blended; spoon mixture evenly over green bean mixture. Bake 20 minutes or until sauce is warm and bubbly around the edges.
